“Researchers prepare a pilot experience of basic income in Alcácer do Sal. The project should start in 2022 and for two years will provide support of €500 per month to a group of inhabitants of the region. (…) The team has the support of UBIEXP, the international research center at the University of Minho dedicated to the study of the subject, under the leadership of Roberto Merrill and Stuart White. After the research phase, which has been carried out in the field in collaboration with Catarina Neves, one of the researchers at the centre, the team is validating the implementation of the project with the municipality.”
