Acílio Rocha, Professor Emeritus at the University of Minho and full researcher at CEPS, was interviewed by Diário de Notícias about his lecture on intercultural ethics, as part of the cycle “Cultural Diversity, Development and Human Rights” at the Center for Advanced Studies of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences.
“One of the most difficult and controversial issues in intercultural ethics is how to reconcile the differences between the ethical norms and values of different cultures. While some argue that there are universal ethical principles that apply to all human beings, regardless of their cultural background, others maintain that ethical judgments are relative to the context and circumstances of each culture.”
