José A. Colen
CEPS FULL RESEARCHER
José A. Colen is conducting research as well as writing on religious freedom, immigration ethics, and human rights philosophy. He previously published on Cold War political thought and recent analytical moral philosophy. Colen holds an M.B.A. from IESE Business School (Barcelona) and a PhD in Political Science from the Institute for Political Studies of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
At the Universidade do Minho, he is a Full Researcher at CEPS and a Professor in the Philosophy Department. He has been a recurrent Guest Professor at the Institute for Political Studies at Universidade Católica Portuguesa and Guest Researcher at the CESPRA of the École des Hautes études en Sciences Sociales (Paris). He has also been a Visiting Scholar at Notre Dame University (Indiana) in 2014 and conducted studies for two years at the Special Collections of the University of Chicago. He was also Visiting Scholar (“Guest Researcher”) at the University of Vienna (Fall 2015), the Universidad de Navarra (Winter-Spring 2016), James Madison Fellow at Princeton University (2016-2017), and Visiting Researcher at the Universidad de Navarra (2017-2018).
Among his former supervisors are João Cardoso Rosas, Pierre Manent, Catherine Zuckert, and Bradford Wilson.
