Pedro Silva

His research focuses on distributive justice and the intersection between political philosophy and real-world phenomena, mainly in the European Union, an issue on which he has recently published. Pedro’s interest for in the intersection between political theory and public theory is not confined. He has co-authored a paper on Unconditional Basic Income as an expression of predistribution.
Pedro Silva has a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economy from the University of York, UK. He has a master’s in management from the University of Porto. He has professional experience in risk management in the energy sector and in fiscal advisory.
He completed a PhD at the Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, having written a dissertation on tax competition and social justice in the European Union. The dissertation concerns competition between EU jurisdictions for non-human capital and seeks to justify regulation of this practice in different scenarios.
